Cruise - Day 4

Welcom to St. Thomas!!

My first glimpse of St. Thomas.. I forgot to get up early enough to take a pic as we were coming into port.

On the other side of the boat.. we had a view of the marina. We're ready to head out for the day after a buffet breakfast.

Another view ...some local shops.

What exactly is a first class taxi? Seriously.. like a Hummer limo taxi? I wanna know!

A sweet spot we found across from Coral World

My new friend Spike. I wonder what he's like to cuddle with.

Off the touristy path... some St. Thomas neighborhoods...

A yellow bellied.. canary.. somethin' somethin' at Coral World.

Coral World's guard dog... I wonder if he's related to "Gidget" the Taco Bell dog?

A little spot next to Coral World..

Our tourguide... he was pretty informative and entertaining.

A tour bus.. 'er... truck, similar to ours. I don't know these people.

Our cruise ship from the other side of the bay...

A couple other cruise ships across the bay... and some of St. Thomas bay

The Geico gecko on vacation with us...

This guy got pissed that his pic was being taken. He practically chased the bus down. He said that "taking a picture is thievery.. that's why they call it TAKING a picture.. I want PAID for any picture taken of me" Dude, it's just a picture of a chubby middle aged man dressed as a pirate selling jewelry in St. Thomas. You're so not Gerard Butler. Take a chilly pill.

Our bus driver, pictured above somewhere thought it'd be funny to drive 90mph with a busload of tourists up a mountain on the left side of the road... with twists and turns. It was a bit scary....
Tour guide said this particular island behind St. Thomas is frequented by celebs. Hilly and Billy Clinton stayed at some blue house lodge on that island. So?

Part of the bay.... and the scuba diving boat.

Now THIS is a very cool name for an establishment. I love it.

The WIKKED restaurant... slightly windy. The back of the restaurant is on the water... nice view.

No I didn't eat this at the Wikked Tiki... but this was a quick lunch on ship.

Goodbye St. Thomas!!

More from Day 3 - Cruise

Entering San Juan port.. from the cruise terminal

Did You Know?
Fort San Cristobal is the biggest fortification built by the Spanish in America. It's construction began in 1634 and took approximately 150 years.

La policia... I think he saw me and was paging for back-up.

Rumor has it, these guys won't even go in a certain neighborhood that we walked to, to get to the above fort.

Another groovy statue..

He looks like he may have been a little chilly when he posed for this..

Her? Not so much.

Walking throught the streets of OSJ.. shopping.

Little girls (tourists) playing with the local birds.. they picked them up and played with them.Hello. bird flu!

'nother statue

The fort closest to town...

A view from on top of the fort...

Crew members from the Columbian vessel..

San Juan... uhm.. do you have OSHA guidelines?

Santa Maria Magdelena de Pazzis Cemetary

Palio Tuscan chophouse at the Sheraton on San Juan bay. Just what I was looking for. Great Italian food in Puerto Rico! :-)

Dancing in the street... Puerto Rican style. Across from the Palio.

I'm not even sure this is our ship.. they were all so close and it was almost midnight when we got back to the boats. This may be the Royal Caribbean.

Adios San Juan!

Maybe we should have taken a walking tour of OJS since I didn't know half of what I was looking at. I *did* read the statues, but failed to jot down what I read for blogging purposes.

You bad bunny!!

There was an article I read today that said this website was offensive.. so ofcourse I had to check it out. Come on. If you didn't take things so seriously, you'd laugh too.

4/1 ... 3rd Cruise day..

Good morning.. ** stretching** ... Look how amazing this water is... We should be in San Juan around 4 pm.

Hanging off the side of the boat to take this shot...

Hello San Juan... nice to finally see you.
The "fort" in Old San Juan..
Heading into the SJ bay.. to park the boat. :)
Looks like Royal Carribean and someone else beat us here..
I found this boat in the bay.. the captain said they're heading to Columbia and tried to convince me to sail away to South America. I declined, but I did get a free bracelet out of it.
Walking down the street in OSJ.. towards the Fort. Turned back to take this pic of the cruise ships behind me.
Not sure who this is... but I love statues.

More pics to come from San Juan.. check back later
Ok Cindy.. I hear you!

Does it get any better than this???

I submit that it does not!

Batting practice before the game 4/14/08. The pics are blurry as usual because I STILL haven't figured out my camera. Unless you're standing perfectly still, I can't get the pic to not be blurry. I've changed every setting you can think of and it still does this... (and there is NO getting Derek Jeter to stand still!) .... what a waste of $400. Ps. I miss JT. (joe torre)

A-Rod.. getting stretched.
I need a new career.
Sports trainer... yeah!

My Derek.. during the national anthem.

Chien - Ming Wang.. :)

3/31 Second day at sea..

Apparently someone decided he wasn't having that much fun on our full day at sea (2nd day) and decided he wanted to jump from one of the balconies inside on to the top of a glass elevator. The elevator didn't break or shatter, but apparently he did.

The captain announced that we would be receiving an emergency visit from the coast guard due to a critically injured passenger.

He was stupid enough to jump.. I felt free to take pics! :)

Atleast we had lobster that night!!

Yum...

Well.. some of us.. ahem.. had two.

Leaving Miami... 3/30

I'll add captions later... but it was a warm, cloudy day when we left Miami

Wow

Has it really been a MONTH??! No one.. and I mean no one sucks more at blogging lately than I do!

I guess I'll share some cruise pics for the next post... until then.. here's a cheesy self pic...
